The Alpro PRO50 overhead door closer is designed to be concealed within the transom header bar of the door. It provides controlled closing of a single or double action aluminium doors.
Features built into the closer include dual closing speeds to allow flexibility in closing. Our variable version has three levels of spring strength. All closers are available in either 90° hold open or no hold options.
The closer comes complete with its own fixing pack, bottom pivot and arm.
Standard spindle length is 12mm. Extended versions available in 17/22/28mm. Replacement items available for retrofit installations and maintenance.

Variable: If replacing a standard closer with variable strength the bracket highlighted in blue on the Closer Preparation Details diagram will need to be changed.

What closers are suitable for use on glass doors?

Our closers are suitable for glass door installation. Depending on the weight of the door would determine the type but usually a light duty is needed.

What is the opening and closing force on your light duty?

The opening is 24Nm and the closing 15Nm.

What is the opening and closing force on your medium duty?

The opening is 38Nm and the closing 23Nm.

What is the opening and closing force on your heavy duty?

The opening is 44Nm and the closing 28Nm.

What is the difference in you arm options?

The arm you need depend on whether the door is side or end loaded. For anti finger trap doors you will need to use either the short side load or end load arm.

What is the maximum door weight these closers can be fitted to?

With a heavy duty bottom pivot, our closers can be used on doors up to 120 KG

Do Alpro closers operate to 180 degree?

Yes, the Alpro closers are double action.

Do the closers come with a back check?

No, this is not an option on Alpro closers.

I need a closer with less than 22.5Nm opening force between 0-30 degrees, do you have one suitable?

Yes, you can use our DDA closer if the door size is 760mm-1021mm.

What is the maximum width and height door sash that the dummy closers can go up to?

Its based on door weight. 100kg with standard pivot or 120kg with heavy duty pivot. With it being a dummy closer the door width and height do not matter it is based on the weight.

The door is opening instead of closing, how do I fix this?

Take the door off, crank the closer to 90 degrees before putting the door back on.

How do I stop the door slamming closed?

Adjust the closer by using the latching and closing adjustment screws, if this does not work the closer may have previously been over adjusted and now needs replacing.

Why does my closer have no strength?

It is likely you have a dummy closer. These have open chambers inside and free flowing oil; designed for use on automatic doors.
